The repair process is as follows:
1. Connect faulty receiver to our workshop test panel, attempt to replicate issue and check service menu for errors
2. Replacement of all 6 power regulators on Main Assembly Board (official replacement components direct from Pioneer/Onkyo) *
3. Clean receiver internally and externally
4. Update the system software. Please tell us if your TV is ISF calibrated as this would overwrite the settings. We can bypass this stage if you wish to keep this feature **
5. 48 hour test and confirmation of no new error codes upon multiple re-starts, input swaps etc
* The AWW1413 Main Assembly Board which causes the fault is no longer available from Pioneer. A component level repair is the only option. We can sometimes rectify previous repair attempts where print has been damaged. We only use official Pioneer components and do not use cheap aftermarket components which often cause the blue flash error to return.
** If the PCB is suspect, this update may be skipped due to additional risks of the software installation ‘crashing’ the board. This means the internal tuners would still be running the original GUI. If you use an external tuner (Satellite, Cable, Freeview etc) you will not be affected.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Very occasionally, if the main assembly board itself is corrupted or beyond repair it is very unlikely we will be able to repair the receiver. In this case, there is no charge.
